What these prices do and don't tell you

These are advertised asking prices, not estimates of what you would save by importing. VRT, VAT where it applies, transport and other costs are not included. Many comparisons rest on only a few advertisements, and the sample label on each row shows how few.

How we compared prices

Read the full method

We compared advertised dealer asking prices for used electric vehicles in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Vehicles are grouped by model, registration year, battery version and drivetrain where identifiable. Different equipment trims may be included in the same comparison. Some vehicle specifications are inferred from manufacturer information where advertisements do not provide complete details.

For each group, we calculated the median asking price and median mileage in each market. Northern Ireland prices were converted from pounds sterling into euros using the exchange rates recorded for the collection dates.

The figures show Northern Ireland minus Republic of Ireland. Negative differences mean the Northern Ireland median is lower.

All available mileage ranges are included. Sample labels indicate how many advertisements contribute to a comparison, not a guarantee of accuracy.

These are advertised prices, not estimates of import savings. VRT, VAT where applicable, transport and other costs are not included.
